Metacrylics - The Best Green Roofing Product
My name is
Glenn
Lenker. I am the owner of Done Right, Inc. I started roofing back in
1985, and have done more than $10,000,000 in business. In roofing and
construction jobs at Done Right, I have worked with many types of
products since then and repaired even more types. I believe Metacrylics
is the best roofing product I have used or worked with. It is the only
roofing product I use on flat roofs over 500 square feet. This is
because of
the superior performance of the product. I personally have not seen a
failure of the product to date. I have used it in many different
situations and over many different types of roofs. I have seen the
product stretch without failing. I would not have believed it if I had
not seen it with my own eyes. I believe in the product completely. I
have personally inspected a Metacrylics roof that was installed 25
years ago by a home owner and has not needed any work since that time!
This
product is a green product that is water based and not toxic as other
formulas with chemicals in them that will make people sick. I have
worked many days with Metacrylics and not once felt sick. This is the
only product Santa Clara County allows on their public buildings that
they own, such as hospitals, and other high density of occupancy
buildings.
The
product is made locally in San Jose. This cuts down on truck fuel used
from the supplier to the job site! The product will lower the roof
temperature because of its high reflectivity and will reduce your A/C
bills, saving money and energy. I have personally put my hand on the
product during high heat in August and not burnt my hand. Any other
color of roofing will burn your hand during summer heat. I have put
water on various other roofs in August and watched the water turn to
steam because the roof is so hot. |

The
Metacrylics
roof is the last roof you will have to install. It does not last for
ever, but it can be renewed by adding
an additional top coat. If done
every ten years, the roof will continue to be under warranty, thus
always having a warranty in force.
You can make changes easily to the
roof such as adding skylights or vents without a lot of additional
expense. You can change the framing of the roof with an addition and
easily tie into the existing Metacrylics roofing.
I have
worked
with many customers who were so fed up with their flat roofs that they
were ready to reframe them to create a pitch, spending tens of
thousands of dollars. I asked them to allow me to do their roof, that
it would not leak, and they would be happy with the cooler temperatures
inside. I have not had one customer regret installing the Metacrylics
roof. They cannot believe how well it works and are extremely thankful
they did not spend the extra money to re-pitch the roof.
Why
doesn't everyone use this roof? Because this is not the cheapest roof
on the market. Tar and gravel or cap sheet with hot tar is cheaper. But
do we want to continue to use tar on our roofs when the supply is
shrinking? In the long run the Metacrylics roof is cheaper if you
include the savings in energy costs with less A/C needed.
We are
also able to lay Metacrylics over your existing roof, thus saving space
in the land fill for things other than worn out roofs. I do not know of
a greener product when all aspects are taken into consideration. I
